Default 61 Econoline Turbo

Hello, new to this group, I thought Id share one of my new projects. I bought a rough 61 3 window for a shop truck. It came without an engine and trans, my first plan involved a 351w, but I decided to go alittle different route. I had a 2.3 turbo from a Mustang SVO sittin in my barn so I dug it out and set it in to check the fit. It is in good shape considering that it is a Mich truck and the previous owner stripped all the paint off then let it sit outside for a couple years. I did remove all the rust on the outside, wasnt too bad, now Im working on rebuilding the floor pans. I bought a Thunderbird Turbo Coupe for parts, Im goin to scavenge everything that I can to put in the Econo, like the computer, wiring, trans, A/C unit....
Ill put up pictures of the before and during. Thanks, Tim form Mich.

Nice build. Mine is a 62 econo truck. I need a lower portion of the front nose to get mine squared away before i install the new floors i am making. Nice project and i have thought of the 2.3 turbo awhile back but have decided against it until a later date. Might do some something to it once it is on the rd or the engine blows

I got alittle more done to the Econo. The front floors are painted, and a friend lettered the doors. I have the parts car completely stripped and the parts are ready to be thrown at it! Unfortunately, I have to set this one aside for a little while, I have to have the trans rebuilt and go trough the engine plus a few other projects that are close to being done.

I decided that I didnt want it flat black, so I gave it a paint job!! I took the engine/trans and cleaned them up to get ready to put in. Sandblasted all of the brackets and put some paint on everything. Got to get the engine/trans mounts built and figure out all of the wiring. I also started to get the dash fabbed up for the gauge cluster, headlight switches, and heater controls. Still have alot of work ahead, but Im still shootin to have it ready before summer.
