Default Announcing our new sister site: Rods-n-Kustoms.com

Quite a few folks have already noticed it on their own, but I never did get around to really announcing it or anything.

As much as we've tried to make this forum open to ALL types of rods... VWs as well as American rods and kustoms... over 8 years later, we still see most of the non-VW posts referred to as "off-topic".

Since I have a huge passion for the "other side" (hence including them in with what this place is about)... this makes me want to stomp myself in the nuts while wearing golf shoes every time I've seen it.
"Sorry for the off-topic post... but look at my killer '33 Ford build"

So I decided to finally say "fuck it... they win" and created a separate site/forum for this "other side" (hate using the word... but dare I say "traditional" hot rods and kustoms)...
Rods-n-Kustoms.com
As well as it's own forum - The Rodders Forum

That being said... the VW side of the house will remain over here. I don't see the need to have 2 forums with the same mish mash of content. Of course there are always exceptions... some projects truly ARE on both sides of the fence (John's Type 3 sled, etc).
My intent of this additional site/forum is to promote more tech posting, hot rod era related art posts, hot rod and kustom projects and build-ups, etc. The off topic stuff will be kept to a bare minimum... so if you're one of the die hard off-topic lovers over here and decide to pull the same thing over there... don't go having your period when your posts... as well as you... get removed from it.

Anyways, if the more "traditional" type of hot rods and kustoms are your thing... feel free to check out our other site and share your info and projects. Hoping to get some good discussions going over there. Time will tell.

Thanks everyone...

Just to be clear, a membership in one is a membership in both? Don't need to register twice or have different User ID's?

Steve is awesome, and one of these years when I actually make it to the Meet I'll have to give him a reach around or something

The first thing that went through my head was "SHIT - one more place to forget to update build threads on"

Looks cool and glad to see the change.

VW's have always been the bastard child of the automotive world. I like it that way.

I wish you well.

Is the name distinct enough to avoid issues with Rod and Custom magazine?

Thanks everyone. Although it's just starting out, I hope it'll gain some speed over time. There's a boat load of hot rod forums out there, so nothing revolutionary about the idea... just wanted something closer to home and a little easier to keep up with than some of the larger ones out there have become.

This is a non-issue. If I was publishing a magazine with a similar name with similar content, creating confusion between the names... that would be a different story.

All I read in all of that was, "I love having VR take up a lot of my time/money/energy... I should have TWICE as much fun if I start ANOTHER board!!" hehehehe, but seriously, thanks! I hardly have anything worthwhile to say here, and I doubt i'll have anything to say there, but I for one do appreciate everything you do keeping the madness running for us! :D

Just need to keep the Idiots out of there.

Endless Crap like:
"I'm bored, show me pictures of ...."
"What color should I paint my ...."
"What is your favorite ...?"
"What did you eat for lunch ?
"Does this make me look fat ?"
