Default Another daily driver,1952 Chevy Styleline more door.

Well I finally tracked down another dream car on my list. Thanks to Brendan for your help (what a great guy). I got the family car that will be put to good use from a daily driver (when not driving Da Bastard and in winter time) to pulling the camper (oh yea, vintage camping). Why a 4 door you ask? Well we plan to have a family some day and we like to use our toys. I have been watching this car for 3 months it was for sale. I finally called him last week and worked out a deal. Yesterday I drove out and picked it you.

The best part is. It is running, driving and even inspected. So today I'm getting all the paper work in order to tag and run it. Got to love that.

Now, take that little red car out of the pic with the camper in the back, turn it B/W and it would be a vintage photo!
Bout time you posted this up! Nice ride!

Awesome Scott!!

As with Carlene, this sentance kind of made me go hmmmm.... as well.

"Well we plan to have a family some day and we like to use our toys."

I guess if you're fine with sharing your intimate desires, I guess I'm fine with hearing them.

Nice score brother!

Scott, you should know by now, you MUST proof read before posting

Now go move that red car, and back the chevy up to the camper and get another pic so I can photochop it 'old'

It was repainted. Org. was a two tone. I was sold on it because it is still the 6v system, so you know it was untouch. Has org. 216 w/ three on the tree (all staying too).

Carlene, I'll get you a picture. Its raining here. I unloaded it just in time this morning before it really started to rain.

Thats a 1952, right . I took my drivers test in a 1951 chevy, but it was a fastback, and it also had the sunvisor. It was the same blue but with a white top. Pops.

Then of course if you were Tom (busguy71), you buy a car and end up with sex toys as well.

Nice looking car bro!!

Looks like a good survivor. You may want to eventually upgrade to a 235, those old babbit oil splash 216s are pretty slow and the full pressure 235 is a good upgrade. You can build more power with the 235 with better reliability.

A rearend form a Powerglide car has a taller gear (3.54 I think) vs the 4.11 in the car now. Easy swap and gives better freeway driving.

Brendan - I pointed out that Packard. I would have picked it up for you. LOL...

Thanks for the tips. I didn't know about the rear swap. I'll have to add that to the list. The 53-54 spindle swap is on the list (or a front swap). But this is all going to happen over time. Its going to be me driver along w/ Da Bastard for now.

I do want to put full seatbelts in it. It just doesn't feel right driving without seatbelts.

Nice score bro.The 235 is a bolt in and a big improvement.I'd just run the 216 till it dies but be on the lookout for a 235.Check out inliners.com for good info on the Chevy 6's.

I think the difference is the brakes are Bendix style self-energizing on 53-54, spindle is the same. Just need the backing plate out, no spindle swap necessary. The 53-54 steering box is also an improved design with easier turning and better feel. Both brakes and steering box are bolt-in swap.

Definitely put seat belts in, no seatbelts is asking for trouble and more serious injuries in any wreck.

I was reading on the HAMB that the 53-54 upright/spindles would lower the front a couple of inches.

I'll check on finding a steering box though. I want to do a disc conversion on the front anyway.
