I had to eat dinner first.

First you make a template to use to make the hammer-formed ribs in the floor panel.
Actually make 2 the same so you can sandwich the metal together and (I am using a pneaumatic hammer to do the work for me). Then i welded a piece of metal on the back of one of the templates as a stopping point for the hammer so the depth is what you want to achieve. Well onto the pics.

This was just a leftover piece of metal as a starting point to make sure it would work. I need to use a bigger compressor as my small one is not enough to work correctly.

Looks pretty good so far.

Hard to tell from the pics, but I would suggest
softening the corner on the bottom form.
Doesn't need much, just a small radius.

A couple minutes with a flat file and it will be perfect.

Take it into work, and use their compressor.

Yep the radius is the next step. Was really wanting to try it out. I remembered you saying the radius after i took it apart. Yep the shop compressor is a big one so once i get the floor all pre fit to the front and mark all the rib locations i will take it to work and finish it up there.

Putting the ribs in will probably cause some distortion,
so you might need to straighten the panel after each rib.
And the edges might pull in unevenly.

I thought of that as well. I was going to leave the panel long other then top to bottom to try and compensate. I was looking at the panel tonight and i am going to take the test panel to the shop tomorrow and finish up the rib and see what it looks like panel wise and such. I dont need alot of the ribs but mostly in the center where the heater use to be and some on the passenger side area.

Took it to work to see what the results would be with a larger air compressor. It worked better but need to have some finesse with the trigger. But all in all it should be easy enough to do once the floors get pre fit before final work up. Need to round the edges some more.

Made another form to make the gas pedal stand off like the original floor and put them in the panel. Next I begin the area for the gas pedal.

Cut out and welded in part of the old floor where the gas pedal went. It needs some metal repair but i figured the upper part was good enough not to have to recreate it.

Made the wiring loom area ( it sits in it to go under the carpet area). Plus i made the first bead in the floor. It gets one more over 8 inches over from this one as well.

Other then trimming it to fit and welding up the holes for the hammer forms and fixing the small rust issue on the pedal area oh and bending over the edges to wrap over to the step areas this is pretty much done. lol

Very good.

When you weld up the small holes, it might distort a little.
Just be ready to planish the welds, to stretch it back.

Then comes the "hard" part, repairing the nose.

Yep the nose is going to be a pain without a shrinker stretcher to get the contour. Might have to save and buy one to learn how to use it. In the mean time may start making a hammer form for the next floor section i need to make.

You don't need a shrinker/stretcher.

Stretching can be done with a hammer and dolly/anvil.

Shrinking, can be done pretty easily.
Go on any of the big metalshaping sites,
and research "tuck shrinking".

A "tucking fork" is simple/cheap to make, and easy to use.

I've got the pieces to make a Tucking Fork,
just need a break in my schedule to do it.

Will post a How To thread.

That would be cool. I was looking through online stuff and it seems easy enough to do so i will attempt something as soon i get to that point. Need to make one more section of flooring before I move onto the nose.
